Fate and Management of Emerging Contaminants (FaME) kick-off meeting and stakeholders’ workshop

A successful kick-off meeting and a stakeholder workshop were held on 15th May 2018 in London. Both events were organised by the University of Exeter and held in London at the UKWIR’s premises in Westminster. The kick off meeting was held on the morning of 15th of May 2018 with our project partners from University College London (UCL), Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT-Roorkee) and Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-Madras); and industry steering board from UK Water Industry Research (UKWIR), Environment Agency, South West Water, Severn Trent Water, ALS Environmental and HYDROK.

On the afternoon of 15th of May, the FaME Team held the first stakeholders (end-users) workshop in London. The workshop included a series of presentations (both from the UK and India) and discussions on several aspects of the FAME project (including emerging contaminants in India and the UK/EU and User Friendly Decision Support Tool (DST) for optimal treatments).

This event was the first of a series of interactive end-user workshops which aim to provide a platform to develop a community and a network of professionals interested in pushing forward the research agenda on emerging contaminants and developing and piloting improved treatment solutions. The next workshop will be held in February 2019.
